1. Architecture & Custody
Traditional crypto processors act as custodial middlemen: they receive your customer's cryptocurrency into their company treasury, hold your balance, charge a 1% to 2% processing fee plus conversion spreads, and can freeze your funds or demand intrusive business KYC documents at any time.
ZeroBeep is 100% decentralized and non-custodial. Payments travel directly across the blockchain straight into your private wallet. ZeroBeep has 0% platform fees, no escrow, no holds, and no rolling reserves.
Never. ZeroBeep does not have access to your private keys or custodial accounts. The plugin generates payment invoices, queries public blockchain nodes to verify settlement, and updates WooCommerce order statuses. The crypto is transferred directly from the buyer's wallet to your wallet.
No. The core version of ZeroBeep on WordPress.org is 100% free with 0% platform fees forever. ZeroBeep PRO is available as an optional one-time lifetime license on SkyWay Mark. You never pay a percentage of your sales volume.
2. Security, Keys & HD Wallets
Yes, 100% safe. An extended public key is mathematically incapable of spending or transferring funds. It can only generate public receiving addresses. Even if an attacker gained full access to your WordPress server and database, they cannot withdraw a single cent from your wallet.
Yes. You can either copy a single receiving address from your hardware wallet (Free edition) or export your account's read-only zpub / xpub (Pro edition) so ZeroBeep derives a new address for each order while keeping your private keys cold.
We strongly recommend zpub (BIP84 Native SegWit). Addresses generated start with bc1q..., resulting in the lowest transaction fees (~40% cheaper miner fees than legacy addresses) and highest compatibility across modern mobile wallets.
3. Multi-Chain & Layer 2 Settlements
Ethereum Layer 1 gas fees frequently spike to $10-$30 per transaction, making small purchases impractical. Base and Arbitrum are Ethereum Layer 2 networks where transactions cost under 1 cent and settle in 1-2 seconds, eliminating cart abandonment.
Yes. In ZeroBeep PRO, the Custom Coins & Tokens Manager allows you to input any smart contract address on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, BSC, or Polygon, along with CoinGecko contract IDs for automatic fiat price conversions.
4. Underpayments & Volatility Tolerances
If the shortage falls within your configured Underpayment Tolerance (e.g., 0.5% or $1.00), ZeroBeep automatically accepts the payment and marks the order as Processing, preventing failed checkouts over microscopic rounding or miner fee differences.
If the shortage exceeds tolerance, the order remains On-Hold, logs the deficit in order notes, and gives the buyer an option to send the remaining balance or submit a refund request.
ZeroBeep continues to monitor blockchain receipts even after visual expiration. If a late transaction confirms with the exact requested amount, ZeroBeep revives the order, transitions it to Processing, and flags it with an administrative note.
5. Refunds & Shortcodes
Cryptocurrency transactions cannot be forcibly reversed. ZeroBeep PRO includes a dedicated customer portal via the [zerobeep_refund] shortcode. Buyers submit their order number, billing email, and a designated refund receiving address. Store admins can review, approve, and execute the refund directly from the ZeroBeep Refunds ledger.
Yes. The store admin can choose to refund the exact satoshis/wei received, or calculate the fiat equivalent in a stablecoin (USDT/USDC) to protect both parties from crypto market volatility.
6. Webhooks & Third-Party Automations
Yes. ZeroBeep PRO's Outgoing Signed Webhooks dispatch real-time events (payment.confirmed, payment.detected, etc.) with HMAC-SHA256 signatures to any webhook receiver URL. You can trigger instant Telegram notifications, assign Discord VIP roles, or unlock SaaS credentials immediately.
